Deadly EEE: Parts of nation see worst outbreak of brain-swelling, mosquito virus in more than a half-century


Nine people from four states have died this year in the US from Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) virus, a mosquito-borne illness that has a death rate of 30 to 50 percent. Most of the deaths occurring in recent weeks.
