Scientists Reach New Milestone in Vaccine Development for Leishmaniasis

A group of researchers are taking steps to develop models to test leishmaniasis vaccines, led by the University of York. Leishmania, transmitted by sand flies, is the basis from which the controlled model is being studied. This development model has been effective for development of a number of vaccines including influenza, malaria, and other infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
