Medical Product Shortages During Disasters: Opportunities to Predict, Prevent, and Respond: Proceedings of a Workshop—in Brief

In response to the shortage of intravenous saline solution that was exacerbated during the 2017 hurricane season, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) asked the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to convene a workshop to better understand the gaps that led to cascading effects in patient care throughout the US health care system. This document contains the proceedings of that workshop.
