The American Society for Microbiology (ASM), in coordination with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), has developed protocols to offer Laboratory Response Network (LRN) Sentinel Level Clinical Laboratories standardized methods and techniques to rule out microorganisms suspected as agents of bioterrorism.
